Design Verification and Registration of Pressure Vessels

DVF Consulting has a wealth of experience in the design verification of pressure equipment according to the technical design standards specified for the plant, ranging from simple air receivers to the most complex heat exchangers. The independent third-party mechanical design verification of pressure equipment is carried out in accordance with the requirements of AS 3920 Pressure Equipment – Conformity Assessment.

Design verification is a process in which a competent individual or group reviews the design documentation to determine whether the design complies with the technical design standards and specifications specified for the pressure vessel. This process includes a review of detailed design drawings, independent design verification calculations, and a review of the design calculations.

Design Verification and Registration​ | DVF Consulting

We are accepted as a pressure equipment design verifier throughout Australia. Our engineers are Chartered Professional Engineers (CPEng) registered on the National Engineering Register (NER) and registered professional engineers under the Professional Engineers Act 2002 (Qld).

The following is a list of pressure equipment requiring registration of design in Australia:

  • Pressure vessels, categorised as hazard level A, B, C or D according to the criteria in AS 4343 Pressure equipment – Hazard levels;
  • Boilers categorised as hazard level A, B, C or D according to the criteria in AS 4343 Pressure equipment – Hazard levels; and
  • Gas cylinders covered by AS 2030.1 Gas cylinders – General requirements.
